Mission
The boundaries of what is technologically possible are not fixed. Beyond Ordinary exists to expand them.
Technological progress is the fundamental mechanism by which civilization expands what it can do. The printing press, the steam engine, the electric grid, vaccines, and the computer each redefined the limits of human life, and each was impossible until it was built.
- Intelligence can be amplified.
- Physical capability can be automated.
- Scientific discovery can be accelerated.
- Energy can be harnessed at far greater scales.
- Machines can increasingly perform work that once required people.
Most constraints that appear permanent are technological in nature. They can be engineered away.
What we do
Our work spans the full arc from fundamental research to deployment. We pursue the hardest open problems at the frontier of technology, build experimental systems to establish what is achievable, and develop validated capabilities into products, platforms, and companies built to endure.
The value of a discovery is measured by what it makes possible.
Our first area of focus is intelligence, the capability that amplifies every other. Our work on autonomous systems that plan, act, and execute work end to end has given rise to Verse, Magnus, and Orchard.
Where this leads
We are building toward a civilization with radically greater intelligence, capability, and freedom, in which what is impossible today becomes routine.
